SO 66 SE CLIFTON UPON TEME -

1/9 Hope Farmhouse

Farmhouse. Probably C17, heavily remodelled circa 1830. Roughly coursed
rubble, slate roofs, side stacks, 'U' plan, centre infilled in C19. Tudor
gothic style. 2 storey with attics; 3 gables to front with barge boards and
finials, each with one range of windows: plaster dressings with square labels,
3 light casements transomed ground and first floor; central entrance with
square label, Tudor arch doorway with half glazed door having Gothic glazing.
Equal armed cross and scroll ties to centre and left of facade. Interior: stair
of circa 1830 in central range with octagonal newel and balusters; right hand
range has C17 chamfered and stopped beams.
