Formerly 2 houses, now public house. C17 with C18 front and C19 and C20
alterations. Red brick, hipped plain tile roof, central brick stack,
large rubble stack to right end. 2 storeys, dentilled brick cornice; 2 + 2
windows all under segmental heads. 2 glazing bar sashes to left, two 3-light
casements to right; roughly central door to both parts; to left 4-panelled
door with flat canopy supported on 2 scroll brackets; to right: 4-panelled
door, upper two panels glazed, with similar canopy. Rear includes a timber-
framed gable and a number of C19 and C20 extensions. Interior: roof contains
C17 trusses with queen struts and trenched purlins; C17 ovolo moulded and
stopped beams in central front room. A medieval open hall house once stood
on this site, but there are no vestiges of it in the present structure.
