SO 76 SW CLIFTON UPON TEME THE VILLAGE (east side)

2/33 The Manor House

GV II

House. C17 with late C18 front and C20 alterations. Red brick, stone
dressings, plain tile roof, brick stack at right rear corner. 2 storeys
with gable lit attics, dentilled brick cornice; 3 windows: restored glazing
bar sashes to first floor, central entrance between 2 C18 tripartite glazing
bar sashes, all under rubbed brick heads. Entrance: C20 wooden canopy
supported on slender Doric columns; C20 semi-circular fanlight over C18
door of 6 fielded panels. To rear a 2 storey C17 timber-framed wing with
square panelled framing, ground floor replaced in C19 brick. Interior:
central open well staircase with turned balusters.
