Cottage. C17 with later alterations. Timber-framed, part rendered, part
painted brick and wattle-and-daub infill, brick replacement walling and
refacing, asbestos cement tiled roofs, large external brick chimney with
tiled offsets at east gable end with detached brick stack. Main range of
2 framed bays and an intersecting 2 bay cross-wing and through-passage at
junction. Two storeys. Framing of large square panels, 3 from sill to wall-
plate; large straight brace in lower corners of north and south wall-frame
at east end. Front elevation has a ground floor casement, a raking-top half-
dormer and a part-glazed C20 door. The cross-wing gable end has a ground
and first floor casement with plank weatherings. Rear elevation Main part
has a ground floor and first floor casement; 2 casements in cross-wing gable
end also C20 extension in angle. Interior: Roof has queen strut trusses with single,
trenched purlins. Curved arched doorhead retained to rear of through-passage.
Main beams are stop chamfered. A single storey brick extension at east gable
end encloses external stack. A brick lean-to extension adjoins the west side
elevation of the cross-wing.
