Farmhouse. Probably late C16 with C19 additions and alterations. Timber-
framed, painted brick infill, brick replacement walling and refacing, tiled
roofs, 3 brick diagonally set chimney shafts to main ridge, also brick
external stacks to rear and side elevations. H-plan of hall and 2 cross-
wings; 2 framed bays to hall with inserted fireplace in through-passage
forming lobby entries. Two-bay cross-wings, additional framed bay at right
angles to right cross-wing. Two storeys, cellar and attic; dentilled eaves
cornice to hall front. Square panelled framing, 4 from sill to wall-plate;
short, straight brace in additional bay to right side elevation; truss with
2 collars with 2 queen struts beneath lower collar to front left wing; and
truss has 3 queen struts below collar and swept raking-struts in apex in
right wing. Front elevation: main part has a ground floor casement with
cambered head and a first floor casement, doorway to left has a C19 panelled
door and had a gabled canopy on console-brackets; the canopy is now missing.
Left cross-wing gable end has a ground floor casement with a cambered head
and a first floor casement. The right cross-wing gable end has a ground
and first floor casement with cambered head and attic light. Interior
inaccessible due to derelict condition at time of survey (June 1984). To
the rear are 3 hipped roof wings, 2 storeys with dentilled eaves cornice;
also an outshut to the right side elevation.
