1/125 Voice Farmhouse


Farmhouse, now house. Probably C17, altered early C18 and mid-C20.
Timber-framed, brick infill, refaced with brick, brick external chimney
to left side elevation and to rear, paired brick stacks with oversailing
cap courses. Hall and cross-wing type plan, each of 2 bays, hall range
on east/west axis with cross-wing at east gable end. Two storeys and
attic; cogged string course between storeys and also cogged eaves course.
Irregular fenestration; C20 casements throughout. Front elevation to north:
hall range has 3 ground and 2 first floor windows and central timber door.
Cross-wing gable end has a ground and first floor window. Attic light in
west gable end. Interior not inspected. A smaller, 2 storey wing adjoins
the west gable end of 2 framed bays; irregularly sized rectangular panels,
2 from sill to wall-plate with long straight braces in lower corners and gable
end queen strut truss. North elevation has 2 ground and 2 first floor
casements and a multi-paned door to left. C20 lean-to extension to rear of
hall range.
