House. C17, with early C19 alterations and additions. Part timber-framed,
painted brick infill and brick replacement walling and refacing, part brick,
tiled roof. External brick stacks at gable ends with tiled offsets and over-
sailing cap courses. Three framed bays plus one brick bay; 2 storeys and
cellar; roof raised to front elevation of older part. Framing visible at
rear: 2 irregularly sized panels from sill to wall-plate, short straight
braces in upper corners, part of queen strut truss exposed at east gable end.
Front elevation: C17 part has a ground floor multi-paned metal casement and
a C20 casement; and 3 first floor multi-paned metal casements; all metal
windows have cambered heads and all windows have plank weatherings; gabled,
timber-framed porch in central bay and planked door. C19 part to left has
a ground floor casement and flat-roofed C20 dormer. Interior not inspected.
At left side elevation is a mid-C19 hipped, single storey addition with casement
in front elevation; at right side elevation is an outshut with cambered
head planked door in front elevation. The building is said to have an
unusually large cellar and was possibly once a public house.
