C17 timber-framed building refronted and completely altered late C18. 3 storeys
with cellar. Late C18 stuccoed front with parapet with raised bands inside forming
framed panel. Cornice with dentil blocks. 1st and 2nd floor slim pilasters.
2 windows wide, sashes without glazing bars, with ledged keystones. Ground floor
round-headed passage with keyblock, and large projecting Victorian shop front.
Tiled roof with gable ends. Including long early C18 brick outbuilding at rear,
brick dentil eaves, segmental headed openings, and tiled gable-ended roof with
queen-post trusses. RCHM (12).

Market House with all the listed buildings on the east side of High Street form
a good group.
