1861-2, by E W Elmslie. Long, low, single-storey building in Gothic style.
Granite rubble, freestone dressings and features ; hipped slate roof, several
paired polygonal stone stacks with caps. Various windows, some with triangular
heads and trefoiled plate tracery. Elliptical-arched door openings, some with
stilted arches and shafts in spandrels with foliated capitals. Wing at the
north end has 3 coped gables. Wing at the south end has 2 gables and carriage
entry. Glazed canopy over platform has girderwork on ornamental cast-iron
brackets and thin, round, cast-iron columns with foliated capitals.
