3/37 Monument to Crane family
about 5 m south of
Church of St Peter


Chest tomb. Mid C19. Sandstone ashlar, modified Romanesque style. Moulded
plinth and capping with central inscription panel to long side, set in blind
triple arcade motif with outer edge supported on rounded shaft and central
arch supported on double brackets. Flanking inscription panels have ogee
heads and vertical chevron motif to edges. Family tomb to Elizabeth and
Edward Crane and son late of Seedgreen. Inscriptions partly illegible.
