- implement shed and closing wall
to north west of Syntley
Farmhouse

Stable block, 2 double pigsties, cowhouse with calf or bull pen, threshing barn,
second cowhouse, implement shed and closing wall forming fold yard. Early C19.
Red brick with tiled roofs. The buildings form a U-shape around a yard closed
by a wall on the south side.
Stable block to south east of 2 storeys with 3 lunettes on first floor and one
at centre of ground floor. Entrance to right has elliptical headed archway.
altered entrance to left. Gable end overlooking foldyard has lunette on first
floor. Two double pigsties adjoin to north. Then a single storey cowhouse of
3 bays and bull/calf pen which has pigeon loft in gable end. Elliptical headed
doors and windows. Large Barn on north side of 9 bays with 3 threshing floors
has ellipitcal headed archways in rebated reveals; cogged eaves cornice; perforated
brick ventilation. The interior has brick cross walls supporting roof. Barn is
partly obscured by a modern steel framed extension (not included). Second cowhouse
to west has been altered and bears only traces of its former arched doorway and
window, included for group value. Implement shed to south west of 3 bays retains
a roundel in gable end, altered and included for group value.
