3/57 Barn south of Dunley Hall



Barn. Perhaps late C16 - early C17. Timber-framed underbuilt in brick
below mid-rail, brick infill, tiled roof. 4 bays, threshing floor in second
bay from east. Formerly timber-framed to sill level now bricked with
perforated brick ventilation. 2 panels from mid-rail to wall-plate. Gables
have 2 collar beams with 4 and 2 queen struts. East gable has lozenge
ventilation in brick work and retains central post to sill level. Interior
has 3 inclined strut trusses.
