Detached house. Mid-C17, altered and remodelled late C19. Rubble with
freestone and brick dressings, probably incorporating a timber-frame,
plain tiled roof and diagonal brick stacks with corbelled out tops. 2 storeys
and attics. H-plan with projecting gabled wings and parallel rear range of
C19. 3 bays with 5-light cross windows on ground and first floors and 3-
light casements to the attics all in chamfered mullions and surrounds and
under brick lintels and relieving arches: 2 storey square bay on left wing.
Off-centre ashlar porch and plank door under a round head with imposts.
Ball finials on the gables. 2 storey, brick oast building at right, C20
casement windows and square kiln at far right under a pyramidal roof.
Interior: Hall: ovolo and bead moulded beams and converging stops.
The 2 rooms at the right also have stop-chamfered beams and the front room
has a stone fire surround with a segmental head. Fine late C19 staircase
with pierced arabesque panels.
