MUCH MARCLE CP -
SO 63 SE

8/35 Cider house about 50 yards
east of Bodenham Farmhouse

GV II

Cider house. Possibly early C18. Sandstone rubble with slate roof.
Rectangular plan aligned west-north-west/east-south-east. Two storeys, two
windows. South elevation has one 2-light opening to left of roughly central
C18 ledged door on ground floor, two oak-framed 2-light openings with sub-
sidiary diamond section mullions and to the left ledged C18 door at the
head of tallet stairs rising from behind the left hand corner. East
asymmetrical gable has small ledged doors covering two openings, one on
the ground floor towards the rear catslide roof and one centrally placed
serving the floor. Interior: four roofing bays each with three vertical
posts from tie to collar above which are V-struts; ground floor contains
a complete cider mill and cider press. An unusually complete example which
forms an adjunct to the adjacent barn (qv).
