8/109 Parting Ground Cottage


House. Probably early C17. Timber-frame with wattle and brick infill, hipped
tiled roof, stone local type external end stack with detached brick shaft to
road front, side stack to left. Probably three framed bays aligned roughly
east/west. Two storeys, two windows. South elevation: three regularly spaced
late C20 casements to ground floor and two mid-C19 4-pane iron casements to
first floor, one to left and one roughly central; lean-to weatherboarded and
corrugated iron roofed extension to right. Frame: four panels high with straight
braces to corner posts and indications that the top row of panels are an addition
to raise the roof.
