Farmhouse. Probably C16 origins, substantially C17 and C18 with later
alterations. Mainly brick with exposed timber-framed north part, tiled
roof and brick stacks. Rectangular plan aligned north-west/south-east,
subsidiary timber-framed part to north and small cross-wing to south.
Two storeys. North-east elevation [towards the Church of St Andrew (qv)]
of main range has three windows, segmental heads, first floor has a small
2-pane window to right of stack near junction with hipped cross-wing and
two large 9-pane casements further to the right, ground floor has another
9-pane casement to the right and a 3-light window to the left, dentilled
brick eaves cornice; to extreme right the square exposed panelling of the
timber-frame part rises above a C19 lean-to; south-west elevation, obscured
from view by rising land, has segmental heads and roughly central 4-panelled
C20 glazed door; north-west gable of main range has leaded 2-light C18 attic
window (RCHM Vol II, p 154).
