GV II

Farmhouse. Possibly C16 or earlier origins, remodelled in C17 and C18 and
extended in early C19. Timber-framed brick-cased main range, coursed
sandstone rubble projecting wing with jamb brick dressings to window
surrounds, hipped tiled roofs. Two stone and brick stacks to north side
of main range and brick stack to west side of projecting wing. L-plan,
main range is aligned roughly east/west; projecting wing attached to west
end of main range. Two storeys. South elevation has 1:2 windows, glazing
bar sashes to left projecting wing; 3-light mid-C19 casements to main range
except for a 4-light casement to the ground floor left hand room, entry is
to the right hand side, segmentally-headed ledged C18 door; dentilled brick
eaves cornice; 6-panelled C19 door in right hand return of projecting wing.
Interior: bases of a pair of cruck blades in the principal ground floor
room behind 4-light casement, ceiling beams of this room have cyma chamfer-
stops (RCHM Vol II, p 157).
