1/225 The Steps

GV II

House. Probably C18 with roof raised in C19. Timber-frame with brick
infill partly underbuilt in brick, slate roof with two brick stacks, that
to gable end, away from the road, having sandstone base and bread oven.
Two structural bays aligned roughly north/south. Cellar with two storeys.
East elevation has two windows, C19 wrought iron 2-light casements with
a small central casement between floors, one mid-C20 casement to right
hand side; first floor is underbuilt in brick with painted timber-framed
effect. Entry in lean-to to west rear side, north gable has curved braces
to tops of corner posts, V-struts from collar and ledged door to cellar.
