House. C16 or C17 fragment of larger building incorporating C15 truss of
an earlier structure, C20 minor additions. Timber-framed with rendered
infill and part painted brick infill, sandstone plinth and stack with brick
shafts, tiled roof. Two framed bays aligned east/west with entrance in south
face, C20 addition to east gable end, large axial stack toward west end.
Single storey and attic; north front, large gabled dormer with 3-light casement
window, 2-light window to ground floor, and single light in small projection
to left. Three conjoined star-plan shafts to stack. Framing:
irregular three square panels with large swept brace from sill to central
main post. Interior: central upper cruck truss (possibly a full cruck but
lower section not visible) with cusped struts to collar; large open fireplace
with moulded surround to ground floor, fragments of plastered decoration in
upper room.
