Farmhouse. C17, refaced early to mid-C19 with further additions. Timber-
frame with part painted brick infill, part wattle-and-daub, sandstone plinth
and stacks, brick refacing and later additions, brick shafts, tiled roofs.
Three framed bays aligned north-east/south-west facing south-east with two
lateral external stacks to rear (north-west), partly enclosed by later lean-
to addition, further additions to south-west; present entrance in south-west
end of main house with further entrance toward centre of later addition.
Two storeys; south-east front, three windows, 2-light casements with segmental
heads flank central single-light window; ground floor, 3-light casement window
and 2-light window to right of open porch with ledged door; lower roof line of
extension to left with two windows and doorway with similar porch and door to
right, further door and slatted window opening to former dairy to far left.
Framing revealed at rear and south-east gable end, generally six square panels
from sill to wall-plate with V-struts in gable. Interior not inspected but
reputed to retain fragments of C17 panelling. (RCHM Vol II, p 22, item 46).
