Farmhouse. C17 with C20 additions and alterations. Timber-framed, part
wattle-and-daub and part painted brick infill, tiled roof. L-plan house
with main block aligned north/south facing west with cross-wing at northern
end, through-passage (now blocked), large axial stack at junction with cross-
wing and further axial stack to right of centre, further additions to south
and lean-to to cross-wing, two storeys and attic; west front, gable end of
cross-wing to left with irregular fenestration, 2-light casement window in
gable with single light and 3-light window to first floor, 3-light window
in lean-to to left, projecting window with hipped roof, main range to right
with three windows of one, two and three lights, similar projecting window
with hipped roof and small 2-light window to right of gabled porch with
panelled door; slightly lower roof level to addition to right with 4-light
casement window. Framing: four square panels from sill to wall-plate with
diagonal bracing below tie-beam of gable end of cross-wing. Largely complete,
swept V-struts in gable, gable retains fragments of bargeboard with scrolled
vine enrichment. Traces of former window surround with ovolo moulding to
rear of cross-wing.
