Public house. Possibly dating from C15 with later C17 additions and
alterations, and including early C19 addition, altered C20. Timber-framed,
largely painted brick infill and refacing, painted brick C19 addition, tiled
roofs. Hall and cross-wing to original building facing north with through-
passage backing onto stack, now with entrance in adjoining C19 building to
right. Two storeys; irregular fenestration, 3-light casement window to
first floor of main block with two 2-light glazing bar casement windows to
ground floor with unused 4-panelled door to right; gable end of cross-wing
to right, large 24-pane glazing bar sash window in gable, multi-paned C20
window to ground floor; present entrance in adjoining C19 building to right
with dentilled eaves cornice and two glazing bar sash windows, single vertical
glazing bar sash window to right of lean-to porch with part-glazed panelled
door on ground floor. Framing: irregular square panelling now refaced to
ground floor, close-studding in gable of cross-wing with fragments of barge-
board with running tracery and sexfoil panels. Interior: altered C20, contains
deeply chamfered beams in main block.
