Farmhouse. Late C16 with Cl7 additions, further mid-C19 additions and
refacing to south front (rear). Timber-framed with sandstone plinth, part
wattle and daub, part painted brick infill, sandstone rubble east addition
and red brick refacing to south. Irregular plan, hall and cross-wing facing
north with further timber-framed addition to west and C19 stone addition to
east extending north, entrance central to former hall, large axial stack
with C19 diagonal plan brick shafts and further stack to west and to east.
Two storeys, gable end of later wing to east with 3-light casement window
and similar 4-light window to ground floor, one 3-light and one 2-light C20
window to main block, with lean-to porch on ground floor with two doors,
2-light window to right of porch. Gable end of cross-wing to right with
3-light casement windows, further 3-light window on ground floor to right
in west extension. Interior contains cross-beamed ceiling in main room
of central block.
