Barn. Possibly C16. Cruck-framed with timber-framed walls on stone plinth,
now with brick infill and weatherboarding, corrugated iron roof. South wall
has lean-to addition to right of cart entrance, and a door to the left. Some
framing exposed in square panels. Interior: five bays. West gable wall has
tie-beam truss and jowled principal posts. The first truss to the east has
truncated crucks with principals on their backs which rise from a high tie-
beam to the apex. This truss was formerly closed: it has empty mortices for
studs and wattle holes. The second cruck truss, to the west of the threshing
floor, has a tie-beam, collar and out-riders. The tops of the blades are butted
against the diagonally-set ridge. The truss to the east of the threshing floor
has no tie-beam. The fourth truss is similar to the second except that it was
formerly closed and has a king-strut above the tie-beam. The east gable wall
also contains a cruck truss.
