Leigh Court

(Formerly listed as Leigh Court Farmhouse)

House. Mid- to late C19, with C17 and early C19 remains. Brick with some
stone dressings and tile roof. Two storeys. Facade has two central gables
with crow-stepped stone copings. Below each are two sashed windows on the
first floor. To each side of the facade is a similar smaller gable above a
single sashed first floor window. On the ground floor the left-hand bay
contains two sashed windows with glazing bars and segmental heads. Below the
left-hand central gable is a single-storey timber canted bay window which
contains sashes with glazing bars. Below the right-hand central gable is a
sashed window with glazing bars, with a blocked window to its right. The
right-hand bay contains a single-storey canted timber bay window which has
casements with glazing bars. The doorway, between the two central gables,
has a round head with fanlight and a timber doorcase with an open pediment
on brackets. Straight joints and variations in brick size suggest that some
of the C17 structure survives. Gables have crow-stepped copings. Gable
chimneys with projecting stacks. At the rear is a parallel range. Included
for group value.
