Lea Tomb, approximately

Chest tomb. Mid- to late C19. Sandstone and marble. Gothic style. Sides
have continuous arcade of pointed niches separated by marble shafts above
moulded base of red marble. Inner arches are trefoiled. Central arches on
each side contain carved figures. Set diagonally at each corner is a canopied
niche, with figures (now headless) remaining only on the east side. On the
north side are inscriptions to Charles Wheeley Lea,died 1898, and Amy Mary Lea,
died 1916. At each corner are pinnacles. Between them the top of the tomb is
treated as a medieval grave slab, with carved cross and inscription to John
Wheeley Lea, died 1874.
