3/4 New Weston Farmhouse

29/9/52
GV II

Farmhouse. Late C18 with mid-C19 alterations. Brick on rubble plinth,
hipped slate roof. L-plan. 3 storeys, dentilled cornice; three 3-light
casements under segmental heads to first and second floors; ground floor
has central mid-C19 porch with moulded capitals to plain pilasters and
moulded cornice, fixed 6-pane casements to sides; 4-panelled door, upper 2
panels glazed, under 3-pane overlight. There is some evidence (a straight
joint in the left return front) that this is a refronting of an earlier,
perhaps early C18 house. Interior not inspected. RCHM I, page 27, no 13.
