2/40 Davis memorial about 25 metres
north of north porch of
Church of St Mary

Chest tomb. William Davis, died 1809. Ashlar. Plain corner pilasters, raised
inscription panel, moulded cornice, flat top. Inscription: "[Sacred]/ to the
Memory of William Davis/ late of the Standel in this Parish/ who died the 9th
Day of February/ 1809. Aged 60 years/ [ 4 more lines ]". This is a good
example of stone masonry and enhances the setting of the church; it contributes
to the group value of the other memorials in the churchyard.
