2/50 Brace memorial about 10 metres
south-east of chancel of
Church of St Mary

Chest tomb. Thomas Brace, died 1808. Ashlar. Bold corner balusters,
decorated with sprigs of wheat; raised inscription panel framed by husks
borders; moulded cornice, bevelled top. Inscription: "Sacred to the Memory/
of/ Thomas Brace/ who departed this life/ 29th day of November/ 1808/
Aged 89 Years". This is a good example of stone masonry and enhances the
setting of the church; it contributes to the group value of the other memorials
in the churchyard.
