Wyastone Leys

Lodge. Probably c1861-62 for John Bannerman of Wyastone Leys (qv) from
designs of William Burn Coursed rubble, ashlar dressings, slate roof.
Broadly T-shaped with porch in angle and flat roofed section in angle
at rear. Jacobean style. Two storeys to top stroke of T, remainder
single storey, string course, shaped gables with finials, stone-mullioned
windows, 2-light to gable end of 2-storey range with canted bay to ground
floor, 3-light to gable end of lower range, pierced parapet to canted
bay and to open porch with shouldered arches. Three twisted shafts to central
stack and to lateral stack of lower range. Lodge adjoins set of gate piers
and gates (qv).
