SO 51 NE GOODRICH CP HUNTSHAM

6/65 Rudge's Barn

Barn. Late C17 or early C18. Greatly altered. Coursed square rubble,
weatherboarding to gable of porch and to north-west gable end of north-
east wing, C20 slate roofs. Straight range of five bays aligned north-east/
south-west with central forward projecting gabled porch and later flanking
single storey extensions with catslide roofs; north-east wing of three bays.
Circular owl hole to south-west gable and loop air vents. Inclined strut
trusses partly renewed. Date of 1706 inscribed to right of porch with
initials "T T J". RCHM mentions a different datestone dated 1693 to
north of north-east wing. Barn is near site of a Roman villa. (R.C.H.M.)
