SO 51 NE GOODRICH CP ROCKLANDS

House. Mid-C18, altered early C19. Coursed rubble, brick architraves,
rendered main elevation. Broadly U-shaped in plan facing south-west.
Central entrance, end axial stacks. Castellated villa style. Entrance
front, two storeys with close-set small scale crenellation; three
windows , largely glazing bar sashes of 2- (centre) and 3-lights (outer)
with Tudor arched (segmentheaded) heads to each light under square hood-
moulds; ground floor projects, also crenellated, the right hand part as
veranda with two Tudor arched bays to front and one to return on slender
square-masonry piers, shallow gable to central Tudor arched porch (partly-
glazed door with Tudor arch inside) flanked by glazing bar windows; 2
segment-headed lights under Tudor arches. Return to south-west: 1:3:1 bays
the left four bays also crenellated, central C18 core rising as three
storey block with crenellations returned to side parapets, string course
above first floor, moulded cornice, glazing bar sash windows with cambered
heads, central canted bay window to ground floor with similar crenellated
parapet. Flanking outer bays with glazing bar sash windows; 2-lights with
tudor arched heads and square hoodmoulds similar to those of main front.
Interior contains fine cast iron fireplaces in upper rooms.
