4/15 New House Farmhouse
and front garden walls

GV II

Farmhouse and front garden walls. Probably C17, extended and remodelled
in early C19. Timber-frame mainly masked in brick, dentilled eaves cornice,
hipped slate roof, stepped external stack to south and west. Rectangular
plan aligned roughly north/south. Two storeys. West elevation: two windows,
regularly spaced C20 casements to left of large stack, early C20 porch and
door, late C19 pent roofed extension two windows wide links house with
adjoining stables (qv). South elevation: the ground floor left hand window
has 42 panes in two vertically divided halves under a segmental head, each
half of which has a central swivelling section of six panes; three windows
on first floor; gabled central porch. The east wall has a large area of
timber-framing, to the south of the rear entrance. Garden walls, about
five feet high, are brick to the north where they return to the stables,
and stone to the west and south.
