4/29 Church House



Farmhouse. Probably C17. Timber-frame, brick and plaster infill, slate
roof hipped to left, two local type stone end stacks each with detached
brick shafts. Rectangular plan oriented roughly north/south with barn
and ciderhouse (qv) attached to east side of north end. Two storeys,
three windows and probably three structural bays. West elevation has
regular fenestration of 2-light late C20 casements except for central
ground floor windows of three lights. Entry under early C20 gabled hood
to left of centre through mid-C20 ledged door. Framing is four panels
high from cill to wall-plate and differs in alignment and proportion in
each bay.
