SO 54 NW SUTTON CP SUTTON ST NICHOLAS

House. Probably late C18, altered in mid- to late C19. Brick, stone
dressings, slate roof and end stacks. Two storeys and attics over cellar.
Five bays with main front to south-west: brick parapet, stone moulded
cornice beneath; string course across first floor window cills and as
imposts between semi-circular headed ground floor windows. Sashes have
horizontal glazing bars to ground floor and none to first floor; 6-panelled
door with panelled jambs and segmental headed fanlight. Single storey, one-
bay wing to right with semi-circular headed window; two-storey one-bay wing
to left, parapet concealing roof and canted late C19 bay window. Interior:
fluted border decoration with corner rosettes on hall ceiling; open well
stair with cut oak brackets, open string and plain balusters.
