Farmhouse incoporating hop kiln. Probably C17 or early C18 with late C19
additions. Timber-framed west range with wattle and plaster infill panels
and brick hop kiln attached to its north end, rendered main and east ranges
with large stack at their junction, plain tiled and slate roofs. Irregular
plan, basically of hall and cross-wing type, with principal range facing
south. One storey and attics. South elevation: gabled ends, 1:2:1 bays
with late C19 and mid-C20 casements, three to ground floor of main central
part beneath two raking-top half dormers, 2-light late C19 casement to
right gable front. Entrance in lean-to porch at junction of centre and
right parts. A small one-bay brick single storey outbuilding is linked
to the east side of the west range which may have been a detached kitchen
or dairy. (RCHM Vol II, p 180).
