7/174 Thatch Cottage


Cottage. Probably C18. Timber-framed with brick patching and brick
infill panels, thatched roof. Two-bay hovel of one storey and gable-lit
attic with large rubble stepped chimney and rounded bread oven, all lime-
washed at gable end. Small C20 casements, one to left of porch and C20
lean-to porch off-centre right. The framing is two panels high. An
example of margin settlement/colonisation.
