SO 54 SW WITHINGTON CP EAU WITHINGTON

6/191 Eau Withington Court

-

GV II

House. Late C18. Painted brick, partly timber-framed (to rear), hipped
slate roof with side chimneys. Plain dolls house box type. Three storeys
and flanking one-bay single storey wings; five windows to main part, glazing
bar sashes, reduced proportions to second floor; central panelled door and
tall overlight with Gothick glazing. The side wings have C20 casements and
ramped parapets concealing roofs. Two gables and a further gabled projection
to rear, timber-framed with irregular square and rectangular panelling showing
how late the timber-frame tradition survived even with "polite" buildings.
The front roof slope had solar panels below the ridge at time of survey
(November 1984).
