LUGWARDINE CP HAGLEY HILL

Country house, now divided into two. Early C18 house, remodelled and
extended during early C19. Coursed and dressed sandstone rubble to C18
part, stuccoed facade to C19 remodelling, hipped slate roofs. Irregular
plan generally double pile with C19 facade to west and C18 part revealed
to rear (east), entrance to right of centre to west front, end stacks.
West front, two storeys, plain pilasters, moulded cornice and blocking
course; 2:1:1 windows, glazing bar sashes to upper floor, plain sashes
to left and plain tripartite sash window to right of projecting porch
with Tuscan pilasters, cornice and blocking course, decorative over-
light and six-panelled door. East front, three storeys, three glazing
bar sash windows With flat arches, open portico with half-glazed inner
door.
