Farmhouse. Late C16 or early C17, remodelled early C18, with further additions of
mid- to late C19. Timber-framed core with some wattle-and-daub infill, brick C18
refacing to south front, remainder sandstone rubble refacing, part hipped concrete
tiled roof. Former L-plan house facing south with wing extending to north at east
end, later additions in angle of L, central entrance to south front, west end stack
and east of centre axial stack, further gable-end stack with bread oven to north.
Two storeys, cellar and attic; remodelled south front, string course, 2:3:2 glazing
bar sash windows, central bay with gable over, and oculus in gable, raised verges;
central entrance with porch and panelled door. Interior retains chamfered ceiling
beams with ogee-stops, south-east room lined with C18 panelling, upper south-east
room has fragments of re-used C17 panelling. Square-panelled framing revealed to
interior.
