6/83 Thruxton House


GV II

House. Probably C17, altered and extended in late C18 or early C19.
Timber-frame, brick, with Welsh slate roofs and brick ridge stacks.
Irregular longitudinal plan aligned roughly north/south. Two storeys
and attics. Main range has east elevation with four windows, sashes
under segmental heads, two early C20 gabled dormers and entry to left
of centre with open pediment and fan-light; rear elevation has timber-
framed projecting gable. Attached to north is a lower timber-framed
range with late C20 casements. Interior of main range has in principal
ground floor room-to south heavy stop-chamfered ceiling beams with moulded
plaster margins dividing the ceiling into four panels.
