2/57 Lower Monkton

GV II

Farmhouse. Probably C17 with later extensions. Sandstone rubble and
timber-framed with rendered finish and roofs of Welsh slate and tiles,
brick stacks. Rectangular plan aligned roughly east/west with small
projecting wings at each end. Cellar and two storeys. North elevation
has one window, to right hand side, segmental heads, 3-light mid-C19
casement to left of roughly central entry in gabled early C20 porch;
two-storey right part has horizontal sash to each floor to left of
truncated front stack and roof hipped to right; left wing gable front
has some exposed studs masked by single-storey mid-C19 extension.
