5/102 Granary about 30 yards
west of Old Furnace

GV II

Granary incorporating remains of a furnace. "This furnace/ was rebilt by/
William Rea/ Gen in 1720" on tablet. Roughly squared sandstone rubble with
Welsh slate and corrugated iron roofs. Rectangular plan aligned north/south
in two parts. South part has three storeys; north part cellar and two
storeys over rising ground. East elevation of south part has three windows,
segmental heads, mainly 2-light casements; north part has four windows, 3-
light casements with large segmental archway rising from cellar to level of
top floor beneath two left hand windows, entry with segmental head to right
of the archway. South elevation has tallet stairs to top floor of granary
with steps under the stairs leading longitudinally to the first floor.
