Stables about 30 yards

Lower Mawfield Farmhouse

GV II
Stables. Probably C18. Sandstone rubble plinth, timber-frame with brick
infill, weatherboards and corrugated iron. Roofs are corrugated iron. L-
plan with three-bay arm to north and two-bay arm to east. South elevation
has corrugated iron cladding to left gable front and two stable doors set in
brick nogging to right hand side. Above these doors is weatherboarding.
Interior has queen-strut trusses. Included for group value. (RCHM, Vol I,
p 18).
