The Old Vicarage

Vicarage. Probably C17 with late C19 additions and alterations. Sandstone
rubble and brick with sandstone dressings, partly finished in stucco. Tile
and Welsh slate roofs with brick stacks. Roughly square plan with garden
front to south-east. Two storeys. South-east elevation has 3:1 windows
with late C19 gabled front to right. Stuccoed left part has two gabled half-
dormers one to each side of early C19 glazing bar sash. C19 part has three
sashes in stone surrounds at a higher level. Ground floor has three canted
bay windows the middle one with glazing bar sashes. Nine-pane glazed door
to centre of left part. Interior (not inspected) noted by RCHM as having
exposed ceiling beams, C17 doors, C17 floor slab and fragments of medieval
glass. Included for group value. (RCHM, Vol I, p 51).
