House. Early C17 with additions probably early C19. Rubble with roofs of
corrugated asbestos and slate. Earlier part of house, at left, of T-plan
with gabled cross-wing at left. Two storeys with attic and cellar. The
cross-wing is of one bay. The ground and first floor windows are C20 metal
casements, with timber lintel on the ground floor and segmental head above.
The attic has a 3-light window with timber lintel and stone hood. The cellar
doorway, under a C20 lean-to, has a chamfered timber surround and a boarded
door with iron strap hinges. To the right are two bays which have windows
with external timber lintels. At the right on the ground floor is a 4-light
window with timber mullions, probably original. In the left-hand bay is a
single-storey C19 porch with three-sided hipped end facing forwards and a
door in the right-hand return wall. Chimney at right with brick cap. Pro-
jecting from the left-hand wall of the cross-wing is a stone stack which has
two truncated diagonal shafts. To the right of the facade are lower additions
with segmental stone arches to the openings. The left-hand end forms an
extension to the house. On the ground floor are four doorways, with windows
between the first and second and at the right. On the first floor are four
openings, the two left-hand ones having C20 metal-casements. Interior: on
the ground floor in the cross-wing there is a chamfered ceiling beam visible.
The stair, in line with the front door, has some C17 turned balusters.
