GV II

Stable block, adjoining wall, gateway and outbuilding adjoining to south-
west of Kentchurch Court (qv). Mid-C14 gateway, early to mid-C19 stable
block, adjoining wall and outbuilding. Sandstone rubble with sandstone
ashlar dressings, part tiled and part Welsh slate roofs. Outbuilding of
two storeys with stabling and storage adjoins immediately to south-west
end of Kentchurch Court (qv) and is aligned north-west/south-east. Three
windows with decorative glazing and hoodmoulds, three windows and three
doors to the ground floor all with similar hoodmoulds; battened doors,
decorative Y-tracery window to south-east gable end. The C14 gateway
adjoins the outbuilding to the south-east; two-centred arched head with
label and moulded jambs flanked by buttresses. The adjoining wall curves
to south-west and may contain material of medieval date; it closes the yard
to the south-east. The main stable block to the south-west is aligned north-
west/south-east and is parallel to the outbuilding across the yard; single-
storey stabling range with projecting porch and projecting carriage entrance,
raised verges and decorative capping to gables. Two 3-light glazing bar
casement windows to left with hoodmould, similar windows to rear, two later
inserted garage doorways to right. Two-storey wing to north-west end with
pair of garage doors to ground floor and roundel in gable; projecting section
further to north-west with large stack at junction with wing and decorative
oriel to gable.
