5/25 Upper Ridway Farmhouse

GV II

Farmhouse. C16 or early C17 core with C18 addition, further minor late
C19 and C20 alterations. Whitewashed sandstone rubble with corrugated
asbestos and part Welsh slate roof. Long range aligned north-east/south-
west with later wing added to north-east end and extending to north-west
forming an L. Large main axial stack and further gable-end stacks to wing,
stack backs onto former through-passage. Single storey and attic. South-
east front with two gabled half-dormers and C20 windows; one C20 window
to left and one 2-light casement window and 3-light glazing bar casement
window both with segmental heads to right of lean-to porch with ledged
door. Interior reveals plank and muntin panelled screen rising through
to roof in present kitchen, with chamfered details and further chamfered
and moulded ceiling beams.
