2/14 Bethell monument
about one yard east
of the chancel of the
Church of St Andrew
GV II
Pedestal tomb. Dated 1766 and 1776. Sandstone ashlar. Triangular plan.
Moulded base and slightly hipped capping over moulded cornice. Oval side
panels contain inscriptions above each of which is a central rosette with
swags: Inscriptions indicate that Samuel Bethell died in 1766 and his
wife Dorothy in 1776.
