6/38 Orangery about 10 yards
to west of
26.1.67 Holme Lacy House
Orangery. Probably late C17 with later alterations. Brick with limestone
dressings and hipped Welsh slate roof. Rectangular plan of 5 by 2 bays
aligned east/west. One storey. South elevation has five windows, each
round-headed with continuous fluted surround and dropped keystone and con-
taining large glazing bar sash. Centre window has steps. Moulded stone
cornice and plain brick and stone parapet. Stone quoins. Entry through
two-leaved doors in similar round-headed opening to right-hand return.
Interior has pegged king-post trusses. (BoE, p 195; RCHM, Vol I, p 100).
